1 SCOPE
This document describes the test procedure for collecting and determining the emissions of volatile organic compounds from the textile trim materials in automotive interior applications using the chamber method.
This document is applicable to various types of textile trim materials in automotive interior applications, including woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, non-woven fabrics, coated fabrics, and compound fabrics.

3 TERMS AND DEFINITIONS
For the purpose of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
Total volatile organic compounds (TVOCs)
volatile organic compounds which are sampled on Tenax tube and analyzed by a non-polar chromatographic column (with a polarity index less than 10), and of which the retention time is between n-hexane and n-hexadecane
3.2
Total hydrocarbon mass concentration
quotient from the sum of mass of all gaseous hydrocarbons measured with a flame ionization detector (FID), divided by the volume of dry gas under the specified atmospheric pressure and temperature conditions
