1 SCOPE
This document specifies the terms and definitions, evaluation indicator system, rating, and test evaluation methods, with respect to Forerunner standard evaluation of electric vehicles traction battery.
This document is applicable to the lithium-ion traction battery packs and systems mounted on electric vehicles and mainly designed for high energy applications.
This document is applicable to the technical requirements for forerunner standard evaluation of electric vehicles traction battery. The manufacturers of traction battery publicly state the advanced standard by reverence to this document, and this document serves as the standard for the third-party appraisal agency to evaluate a Forerunner enterprise standard.

3 TERMS AND DEFINITIONS
For the purpose of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 19596 and the following apply.
3.1
Secondary cell
basic functional unit which achieves mutual conversion between electric energy and chemical energy
Note: it usually consists of electrodes, separators, electrolyte, housing and terminals, and is designed to be electrically recharged.
3.2
Battery module
a combination, intended as a power source, of more than one secondary cell in series and/or parallel connection
3.3
Battery pack
a unit that can obtain electric energy from external sources and output electric energy to external devices
Note: it usually includes secondary cell, battery management module, battery enclosure and the relevant accessories, e.g. cooling components, connection cables, etc.
