1 SCOPE

This Part of GB/T 5359 specifies the terms, regarding the type of vehicles, for motorcycles and mopeds.
This Part applies to the motorcycles and mopeds, operating on highway and urban road, and for off-road purpose.

2 TERMS AND DEFINITIONS

2.1 Moped Terms

2.1.1
Moped
“Moped” means any two-wheeled or three-wheeled vehicle, of which the maximum design speed doesn’t exceed 50 km/h, the complete vehicle kerb mass doesn’t exceed 400 kg, and in the case of three wheels, they are arranged symmetric to the longitudinal median plane; if fitted with an internal combustion engine, the engine capacity doesn’t exceed 50mL and the maximum net power doesn’t exceed 4kW.
